American Automation Provides Security Innovation at Fort Leavenworth

American Automation replaced/upgraded 65 intrusion detection systems in 47 buildings at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.  The project included the replacement of the main control equipment and keypads, installation of four new systems, and adding wireless mesh radio systems at 11 buildings.  The existing devices (i.e., balanced magnetic switches, motion sensors, etc.) were re-purposed.  American Automation self-performed all the work. There were no subcontractors utilized.

The systems consisted of commercial off-the-shelf equipment — Tyco Brand product, and included control panels, remote keypads, expansion modules, detection devices, power supplies, and batteries.

The equipment was installed and tested in accordance with Unified Facilities Guide Specifications Division 28.  The project was completed on time and on budget. In addition, it allowed the client to have state of the art systems and understand their applications and impact as they address upgrades at other buildings as well.
